This morning, a newscaster announced that violence against women was more widespread throughout the world than originally believed.
1 in 4 men in Asia admitted to abusing or raping a woman when asked on a survey.
Sigh.
Meanwhile, images from an advertising campaign called "Abused Goddesses" have gone viral. Pranav Bhide, an art director and freelance illustrator based in Mumbai, created the powerful images of Hindu Goddesses Durga, Saraswati and Lakshmi in traditional poses with bruises and cuts on their faces and the message: "Today, more than 68% of women in India are victims of domestic violence. Tomorrow, it seems like no woman will be spared. Not even the ones we pray to."
Let's pray this changes something. Save our sisters.
